CALV SPARTANS - U-19 - is looking for skilled and committed players interested in playing at the highest level. We are looking for players in all positions including a goalkeeper to make our team strong for NCSL Spring season and Maryland State Cup. Our key aim is help develop and guide young players in the right direction through professional coaching to achieve player’s individual goals. Players are also taught the psychological elements of soccer, including match preparation, practice habits and specific game situations, such as dealing with a physical opponent or playing when behind. Spartans is coached by Ulises Vargas, a Maryland Licensed coach. Coach Vargas has won NCSL Division 1 twice with his team Spartans. He also won a national championship: the US Youth Soccer President Cup (a national tournament) in 2009 beating Indiana 4-1 in the final.
