STAR Training
Required for Most STARs Prior to the Spring Season

Updated Friday, January 18, 2008

All STARs must attend certification or recertification training prior to the Spring 2008 season, except those who completed a class after July 2007 and already received a 2008 USSF badge.  Returning STARs with 2008 badges are not required to attend training until after the Fall 2008 season.

Returning STARs select a recertification clinic here:

Maryland Classes
DC/Virginia Classes

New STARs must attend a class for New Referees unless they are already certified as a referee for 2008.  USSF Grade 12 Assistant Referee classes for new STARs are scheduled:

Sunday, February 10, 2008 - Maryland
Saturday, February 23, 2008 - Virginia
Saturday, March 8, 2008 - Maryland
Saturday, March 8, 2008 - Virginia
Sunday, March 9, 2008 - Maryland
Saturday, March 29, 2008 - Virginia
Saturday, March 29, 2008 - Maryland
Saturday, April 5, 2008 - Virginia

New STARs may also attend one of the USSF New Referee Grade 8 or 9 classes listed on the Maryland and DC/Virginia Referee websites.

New STARs select a New Referee class here:

Maryland Classes
DC/Virginia Classes

Please note that the DC/Virginia registration is a two-step process: register as a referee (and pay), then register for a specific class.

Reminder:  To be eligible to play this season, U12-U14 teams must post the names and contact information of three adult STARs on their Contacts web page by March 1, 2008, and post certification date, location, and referee grade before their first scheduled game.
